Certification “Operator of Track Maintenance Machines”
This certification includes proof of qualifications / competence in the following fields:
- Composition and functioning of track maintenance machines
- Measuring and control systems of track maintenance machines
- Servicing of track maintenance machines
- Operation of operating controls of track maintenance machines
- Action to be taken in the event of malfunctions on track maintenance machines
- Track geometry / track parameters in compliance with railway guidelines
- Track laying and track maintenance methods
- Practical experience
- Quality assurance of work performed using track maintenance machines
- Fire protection, occupational health and safety
- Proof of skills and/or the ability to make objective appraisals and decisions
Entrance requirements
Education
- Proof of school-leaving certificate
- Proof of training preferably in the mechanical engineering sector
- At least one year’s experience of working with track maintenance machines
- Computer skills
- Successful participation in a training course for operators of track maintenance machines
- or proof of adequate experience as a track maintenance machine operator.
Personal requirements
It is required from the “Operator of Track Maintenance Machines” that he:
- is at least 21 years old,
- is physically and mentally fit to operate a track maintenance machine,
- has personal reliability and
- no dependency on alcohol and other intoxicants.
